Jessica Simpson gives look into her liquor abuse battle: See the ‘unrecognizable’ photograph
Jessica Simpson is giving fans a brief look into her fight with liquor abuse, by sharing an “unrecognizable” photograph of herself from four years prior.
The 41-year-old vocalist, who uncovered her previous compulsion battles in her 2020 journal “Open Book,” took to Instagram on Monday to share an image of herself in a pink pullover and warm up pants and sitting on a pad, alongside reflections on enslavement.
She composed that the photograph catches the “exact instant I would permit myself to reclaim my light, show triumph over my interior skirmish of dignity, and bold this world with penetrating clearness.”
“I needed to live as a pioneer does and break cycles to progress forward-never thinking back with lament and regret over any decision I have made and would make for the remainder of my time here inside this delightful world,” she proceeded.
Simpson added that the a long time since the photograph was taken have felt like just two and that the “genuine work that should have been done in my life was to really acknowledge disappointment, torment, brokenness, and self destructive behavior.”
“The drinking wasn’t the issue. I was,” she composed. “I didn’t adore myself. I didn’t regard my own force. Today I do. I have gotten along with the feelings of trepidation and I have acknowledged the pieces of my life that are simply tragic. I own my own force with heartfelt boldness. I’m ridiculously fair and serenely open. I’m free.”

Simpson uncovered she was physically mishandled as a youngster and later conquered liquor and chronic drug habits in her journal “Open Book.” . She composed that injury from the maltreatment, combined with worry about her profession, driven her to become subject to liquor and medications.
“I was committing suicide with all the drinking and pills,” she wrote in her journal, adding she’s been calm since Nov. 2017 and that treatment helped her mend. “Surrendering the liquor was simple. I was frantic at that container. At how it permitted me to remain smug and numb.”
In December 2020, Simpson declared she was joining forces with Amazon Studios for two new series motivated by her noteworthy journal and two papers she expounded on parenthood and appreciation.
